A contest is one stay on one scrape day where Opodo and at least one other site quoted the same hotel, dates and guests. Opodo "wins" when it matched the lowest price — ties count for everyone tied. "Against the market" is its distance from the median site in each contest, then the median of those distances. Room types are not reported by the sources, so a very large gap can be a different room rather than a lower price.
